Wendell Roth III, an experienced sales and marketing executive with
over 20 years in the chemical and plastic industries, has been named
Director of Business Development for InChem Corp., a chemical
manufacturer in Rock Hill, S.C.
Roth held positions of increasing responsibility at The Dow Chemical
Company in the Liquid Separations Group focused on high purity water
solutions. At DSM Fine Chemicals, a Dutch company, he gained
international experience while living in Europe, and had North
American commercial responsibilities for custom synthesis products,
and North American marketing responsibilities for nutritional
supplements.
He was Vice President, Sales & Marketing at DanChem Technologies,
Inc., where he participated in a leveraged buyout, and was
instrumental in the turnaround and eventual sale of the company in 2008.
Most recently, Roth started Waterra in Greensboro, N.C., to provide a
solution for the tens of billions of plastic bottles discarded
annually. Waterra provides environmentally-friendly purified water
dispensers that require the consumer to utilize a reusable water
bottle or container and eliminates the problem of single use plastic
bottles. The company's scope also broadened to providing a healthier
alternative to the sugared and diet beverages packaged in plastic
bottles.
Roth is past President of The Racemics, a New York based industry
group. He graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering
from The Georgia Institute of Technology. He lives with his wife,
Cindy, and three children in Greensboro, and volunteers for various
charities in the Triad.
"Wendell has an excellent background in sales and marketing for the
custom and toll chemical manufacturing industry in which we operate,"
said Steve Crownshaw, President and CEO of InChem Corp. "As demand for
our services and facilities continue to grow, he will be a valuable
addition to our team, enabling us to be more responsive to current
customers and to secure new ones."
