In a press conference June 20 at Davidson Town Hall, N.C. Deputy
Secretary Dale Carroll announced on behalf of Governor Beverly Perdue
that MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. (NYSE MSM) ("MSC") will set up a
co-headquarters in Davidson and create 400 jobs in North Carolina by
the end of 2017. The company's existing headquarters is located in

metalworking and industrial supplies. In business since 1941, MSC has
set the industry standard for quality, selection and customer service
as one of the leading direct marketers and distributors of more than

"This co-location strategy will support and prepare for MSC's strong
future growth trajectory," said David Sandler, chief executive officer
of MSC. "After conducting a national search, the Charlotte area
provided the most compelling opportunity to strategically and cost-
effectively grow our business. We are grateful for the efforts and
leadership of Governor Perdue and other North Carolina officials for
working with us to make this co-location possible. We look forward to
building our presence in the Davidson community and to beginning this
exciting new chapter for MSC."

mayor, John Woods. "We encourage the development of jobs, with the
focus of making Davidson a great place to live and work."
