Southeast Pain Care (SEPC), a division of the national medical group
American Anesthesiology, now offers extended hours at its Carolinas
Medical Center-Main location in the Morehead Medical Plaza. The clinic
now sees patients until 7:30 PM on the first and third Tuesday of
every month.
"We added the extra hours primarily for working professionals who may
have a hard time getting here during the business day," said Dr. Jon-
David Hoppenfeld, a board certified physician in pain management and
neurology who will staff the site. "The benefits are added convenience
and accessibility, which together translate into a higher level of
patient care."
Founded in Charlotte in 1997, Southeast Pain Care treats a wide
variety of patients' pain needs, from back pain to diabetic
neuropathy, using interventional pain techniques. The goal is to
provide patients with advanced treatment options, while simultaneously
decreasing and/or eliminating the amount of pain medication necessary
to control their pain. Some examples of interventional pain techniques
include: injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency and spinal cord
stimulators.
All Southeast Pain Care physicians are fellowship trained in pain
management as well as double board certified in anesthesiology/
neurology and pain management. Southeast Pain Care accepts self-
referrals for patients suffering from the following types of pain:
neck, back arm, leg, sciatica; nerve, headaches, migraines; CRPS (or
RSD); arthritis, post-surgical, failed back surgery; fibromyalgia and
shingles. Patients suffering from other conditions must be referred by
a physician. To learn more, visit www.sepaincare.com.
